Having watched the Cleveland County Board of Education meeting last night, there was the same old group singing the same old song…We’re into the third week of school…don’t throw the nutritionist under the bus…we’re going to serve Philly cheese steak…and so it goes with the CCSB whiny family. Such an uproar from those elected to serve the students because some new ideas for school lunches upset the wrong people. And it costs money, don’t you know! Maybe it’s time to trim some fat and eliminate some waste at the top of the “food chain” and other unnecessary expenditures.
Some people from Cleveland County, including a CCS board member, and a candidate for the CC School Board took a trip to Greenville, S.C. to learn more about how they prepare their meals and what their process is, etc. The members of the CCBOE were invited but declined, so now they’re in a snit because they’re right and everyone else is wrong.

Maybe it wouldn’t be a bad idea at all if the entire school board would visit the Greenville, S.C. facility and see for themselves before passing judgment on what will or will not work. After all, everyone is familiar with the situation with food up until our present time. If they don’t have time, then maybe some of the board members need to give up their seats on the board if they are too consumed with seats on other boards and other venues. We are already seeing the results of some of these members spreading themselves too thin…and their lack of accomplishments is showing.
