Let me see if I have this correct. I have a kid that eats his or her way into oblivion because mom or dad will not provide a healthy meal, so, therefore, the kid has to live on junk foods and fast foods, then I can sue McDonald’s, Jack-In-the Box, Burger King and the likes? If the kid balloons up to 400 lbs by the age of 14 or so, it’s not my responsibility to consult a doctor before it gets critical. Do I only have to find a sleazy lawyer? Oh, okay. Now I get it!
Stuff your way right into the courtrooms of America. Leave your parental responsibility and common sense at the door…it is not required here. Come on, people, give me a break. I’m not against lawyers. One of my dearest friends is a lawyer and I vigorously campaigned for him during the past election. He is not crooked and he is not dishonest. He sides with me on this one.
Let me post for you, just a few instances where the general public has gone full tilt bonkers and side-stepped all personal responsibility. These are but a few blurbs from the net and several newspapers.
*One particular child is 14 and over 300lbs. and has diabetes, and blames McDonalds for his weight and health problems because he’s dined there every day since he was about 6 years old. This kid’s daily meal consisted of a Big Mac, super-sized fries, and a large shake! According to GMA, the meal contained approximately 1800 calories and 60 grams of fat. Seems to me it would be cheaper to eat at home unless this kid owns their own business. I mean, eating at a fast food place every day gets to be expensive. DUH! Either the kid was made to go there and indulge, or the car was on auto-pilot and took him there against his will, or the parent was too lazy to take the kid home and prepare a healthy meal. Which would you choose?
Okay, in this particular case, is this not a form of child abuse? Is the parent allowing this kid to endanger their very health? Of course not. That wouldn’t be politically correct. As long as you don’t discipline your child, teach your kid good morals, and let them know about Christianity, everything is cool. Right?
*Also, we have heard about the “Vegans” and such, suing these people because of their burgers or fries. This is so absurd. Hey, if you don’t like the food, don’t eat there. Simple as that. And these people that order “Hot Coffee”, then spill it all over themselves and sue the people. What a farce. Hot Coffee and driving an automobile do not mix…kind of like a cell phone but not quite the same damage. I have no sympathy for fools, and I’m sorry if that sounds calloused, but that’s the way it is.
Now, let’s do a little testing here. Let’s say that I sit down and drink a case of beer or a quart of liquor and try to drive, but I’m more than a little tipsy. Does that give me the right to sue the beverage maker because their product rendered me incoherent? Not. It’s called personal choice, and I have to make personal decisions, right or wrong, and accept the consequences of these decisions, whatever they may lead to. I sit down and stuff myself with lots of grease, lots of acidic foods, lots of carbohydrates, and I later feel sick. So does this mean I can sue somebody? Probably, if the above crockery is the standard.
People, we are being dumbed down and bombarded with “it’s their fault”…well who are they? They are the people who want us to depend on good government programs to keep us in line to take care of us and to disallow us to think for ourselves. “Them” wants us to be like sheep… dumb sheep. As long as they are the shepherds, then we, as sheep can be manipulated like a good little herd. Have you gotten the picture yet?
Even in the Bible, where Jesus makes His promises to His people, none of them are open-ended. With every promise He makes, there is an obligation on our part. It’s not an open-ended thing…there is genuine responsibility here, and the sooner some people wake up to this fact, the sooner some folks can wean themselves from the government teat.
I hope someday soon, people will realize what is going on around them, and do something about it. The government is not obligated to take care of you. Your town or city is not obligated to take care of you. And if you have kids, then you are obligated and responsible for their well-being…period. So the next time you sit down to a burger and fries, think about what you’re doing before you start running to the courthouse and filing a frivolous lawsuit. Look into the mirror…you will see who is to blame.
